Microfibre

Microfibre fabrics are made from synthetic fibres.

They are woven, knitted or interwoven from ultra-fine polyester threads, resulting in a pleasantly soft surface.

Upholstered furniture made of microfibre is very easy to care for, hard-wearing and has a high light and color fastness. They are water-repellent and keep you warm. And all this without any additional chemical treatment.

The best-known microfibre fabrics include Alcantara, Belvetara and Amaretta.

Microfibre is a much-used material in the furniture sector. The fabric is easy to care for and available in many colors. Perfect for seating furniture.

What is microfibre?

Microfibre fabrics are made from extremely thin, yet very tear-resistant and durable fibers, which is why they have an enormous range of applications. The production of microfibre is not easy, as the fineness range is between 0.1 and 1.0 dtex.

Usually made of polyester, polyacrylic or polyamide, textile covers made of microfibre are very soft, but at the same time relatively dimensionally stable.

Care tips for microfibre furniture

We recommend dusting the upholstered furniture once a week with a damp cloth or by using the LCK Cleaning Glove (see product recommendations below). This ensures cleanliness and keeps the colour fresh.

Thorough cleaning with the PURATEX^® Cleaning Set for microfibre should be carried out quarterly. Always work over a large area, not just selectively. If you only clean a small area of the upholstered furniture, light-colored spots (which are cleaner than the rest of the sofa) may appear after cleaning.
