Properties

The sanding of the upper side gives nubuck a velvety surface. This makes the leather very soft and increases its breathability.
However, this also makes it much more susceptible to soiling and staining.
UV resistance is also significantly reduced and the colour can easily fade without sun protection effect.
The good news: with regular and correct maintenance care, the beauty of nubuck leather can be preserved in the long term.

By the way, leather with the designation “WILD LEATHER” is actually made from animals that live outdoors, such as deer, stags, etc.
Due to their wild outdoor life, the upper side of the hide is heavily scarred, which is why the underside of the hide (flesh side) is usually used, roughened and turned into suede leather.
