Velvet & velour

Upholstery covers made of velvet or velour are currently all the rage. The soft, plush sofa surfaces with a high cuddle factor are flattering in wonderful colors and are an eye-catcher in any home.

Velvet used to be the “royal fabric”, not only because it was primarily used for the wardrobes and interiors of emperors and kings.

Velvet was also the first fabric with a “third dimension” and only true master weavers are able to produce this fabric in an elaborate way. With its brilliance and suppleness, velvet is still enchanting today. It can be made from natural or synthetic fibers, the most precious being silk velvet and velvet brocade.

You should be very careful when cleaning and caring for velvet and follow the appropriate product recommendations.
